Логістичний проєкт WINHUB корпорації TERWIN увійшов до переліку найбільш перспективних інвестиційних проєктів Міністерства економіки України, які були представлені на Ukraine Recovery Conference 2024 у Берліні

This is a large-scale project aimed at developing Ukraine’s logistics capabilities and constructing logistics hubs totaling 1 million square meters. The planned investment amounts to 700 million U.S. dollars.

This year’s conference brought together leaders from the governments of progressive countries, international organizations, the business community, and civil society under the slogan: “United in Defense. United in Recovery. Stronger Together.” URC2024 is the latest in a series of annual high-level events dedicated to the rapid recovery and long-term reconstruction of Ukraine, which have been held since the start of Russia’s full-scale aggression against Ukraine.

At URC2024, TERWIN Corporation presented its WINHUB investment project, which will contribute to the growth of the Ukrainian economy and retail sector. The project involves the construction of over 1 million square meters of Class A warehouse space across four regions of Ukraine. These are not merely warehouse complexes, but a comprehensive business infrastructure with no current equivalent in Ukraine. The hub’s design is based on the principles of energy efficiency, environmental sustainability, and ergonomics. Energy efficiency means making the most intelligent use of resources and energy-saving technologies. Environmental sustainability involves the use of alternative energy sources, a full-cycle approach to waste, containers, and packaging, and the use of rainwater. Ergonomics involves utilizing all of the hub’s spaces to maximize its efficiency.

“URC2024 has once again demonstrated the high level of interest Western investors have in Ukrainian projects. Our country is showing incredible economic resilience amid the war, and today the world sees Ukraine and Ukrainian businesses as a reliable partner. The country needs large-scale projects capable of significantly strengthening the Ukrainian economy across various sectors. Our WINHUB project is aimed at developing Ukraine’s logistics potential. Today, Ukraine has only 1.5 million square meters of Class A warehouse space, while neighboring Poland has 30 million square meters. As participants in the European market, we need high-quality logistics infrastructure in Ukraine. “Based on market needs and the requirements of our own retail chains, we have launched the construction of a 1 million square meter logistics hub across four regions of Ukraine and have begun negotiations with Western investors regarding the implementation of this project,” noted Ruslan Shostak, president of TERWIN Corporation and co-owner of the EVA and VARUS retail chains.

The creation of new, high-quality infrastructure offers a number of benefits for both business and society

Improving the efficiency of warehouse space utilization will lead to faster delivery times and lower delivery costs.
The comprehensiveness of services will be ensured by the availability, at a single location, of various types of warehouses tailored to tenants’ different requirements, as well as additional professional and modern services.
Innovation and training of professional staff. The development of a logistics R&D center and partnerships with specialized domestic and foreign universities will enable the implementation of cutting-edge global logistics expertise and the training of high-caliber personnel starting from the university level.
Intermodality—the integration of road and rail transport in a single location.
Export/import operations based on the hub’s customs-bonded warehouses and related customs services.
Employee safety. Even at the design stage, storage facilities with full infrastructure are planned for 100% of the staff.

Benefits of creating hubs for local communities, local businesses, and the government:

New jobs. It is planned to create up to 25,000 jobs during the construction and operation of the hubs. For every job created directly at a logistics hub, an additional 2–3 new jobs can be created in related businesses and in small businesses within the communities closest to the hubs.
Development of local businesses and related infrastructure. An ecosystem of related socio-economic businesses will be established around the hubs, including hostels, supermarkets, truck service stations, daycare centers, gyms, food courts, waste collection and recycling services, and car-sharing and electric vehicle services.
Development of local social infrastructure. Creation of modern public spaces at the hub locations: water features, bike paths, areas for recreation and hosting cultural and community events in collaboration with local communities, and an eco-friendly public transportation system.
